Official AW14 Blogger – Marchesa Notte storms the catwalk

British born designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig are the dynamic duo behind luxury fashion brand Marchesa. Established in 2004, their fashion empire combines elegant eveningwear and one off couture designs with beautiful craftsmanship and supreme femininity. The Marchesa Notte collection closely followed in 2006 and since then the brand has gone from strength to strength, dressing some of the most famous women in the world.

It may come as no surprise to learn that both designers have creative backgrounds, meeting at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. With Georginas draping expertise and Kerens flair for decorative textiles; it made for a pretty good fashion partnership and contributed to their exquisite collections season after season. Their appeal as a brand that provides luxury garments for women of all ages is impressive, and we were lucky to see their AW14 collection grace the catwalk at Vodafone London Fashion Weekend.

The collection showcased a variety of long and short evening gowns with incredible attention to detail. My top picks would have to be this stunning bold purple gown, complete with draped split and fabric, closely followed by this pale gold princess-y number with lace bodice, giving modest cover to the shoulders and arms whilst oozing class and sophistication. Finally, this striking black lace dress instantly caught my eye – I love the layers of transparency and nude lining that gives it a ‘barely there’ vibe – very different!
Enticing and iconic, the Marchesa Notte collection certainly had something for everyone!
