Winning Blog Post - Suzi Smith on Sophia Webster:

Defiant in the face of shoe mediocrity, Sophia Webster has continued to blaze her unique footwear trail through the fashion industry. Since her explosive SS13 debut, Webster’s fun and innovative designs have continuously wowed the critics and her SS15 collection was no exception.

Mayan and Aztec tribal influences, jungle fever and the 90’s acid scene collided in this truly psychedelic collection. Indeed, Webster’s ‘Jungle is Massive’ collection showcased in graffiti-clad walls saturated with electrifying neon and to the sound of a reverberating underground base very much embodied Armando’s cult classic tune – ‘The Land of Confusion’. Bright flashes of blue, yellow, orange and purple, underneath the eyes showcased each model’s individuality. The complete look had a strong 'finger paint' finish with a fun, trippy, acid meets Mayan reference.

However, the electrifying scene did not deter from Webster’s intricate craftsmanship evident in the form of acidic-hued animal prints, razor-sharp geometrics and provocative bondage footwear. Thigh-high boots, an animated update of the classic ‘Riko’ and kitsch, pop-art accessories adorned in stylish slogans simply secured this unassuming ‘rave in a cave’ collection.

Although Webster isn’t one for ‘bare necessities’ – it was easy to forget about your worries and strife in this psychedelic jungle! Evidently, fashion’s love affair with Sophia Webster’s footwear is continuing to soar….
