“A Smythson diary. Preen sunglasses! Eight Hour Cream.” reels off Thea Bregazzi, one half of designer duo Preen by Thornton Bregazzi. “My laptop, sketch book and earphones,” adds Justin Thornton, rattling off the essentials these two never leave home without. Appreciating the benefits of a roomy handbag, the pair took up the task of designing this season’s exclusive London Fashion Weekend tote bag with relish.

They looked to their SS16 collection and its black flower grid pattern to produce a new print that incorporates the colorful florals of an English country garden within a graphic white framework.

It’s a great way to kick off Preen’s 20th year in business; the couple met aged 18 while studying on the Isle of Man. Their signature play on masculine and feminine; hard and soft; pretty and tough; has manifested in a style that resonates with women the world over, including some of the world’s most stylish including Cate Blanchett, Kate Bosworth, Beyoncé and Michelle Obama. Participating in London Fashion Weekend for the first time, Bregazzi says, “We love London, it’s our home and it’s our inspiration; we love the art, the music, the people. It is the most creative city in the world.”
