Designer and maker Malaika has a passion for beautifully crafted design in all its forms, from the structures which contribute to large cityscapes to the intricacies of fine jewellery pieces. Chalk Jewellery’s collections are inspired by architectural structures and patterns.

“My eye is drawn to structure and style. My work is very bold, with vivid colours and geometric shapes. I draw a lot of inspiration from the African continent, which has an abundance of cultural variety. Making jewellery allows me to show another side of myself, I am free to express my stylistic flare. My work as an architect inspires the structure and function of my jewellery.

My latest capsule collection is a collaboration with luxury silk scarf brand “Sarah and Sorrentino”. The range accentuates focal patterns which appear within Sarah and Sorrentino’s Lagos scarf”.
